Overview
In Fall 2022, PLMA’s Officers, Executive Committee, and Staff convened in Denver, Colorado to update the organization’s strategic plan and map out PLMA's post-COVID course forward. The diagram below is a graphic representation of PLMA’s current 2-year strategic plan titled "Vision 2024."

Six Volunteer-Led Taskforces to Work with PLMA to Develop and Achieve these Goals
In order to realize the full potential of Vision 2024, PLMA has sought the experience, knowledge, and participation of our member practitioners to work together and implement the strategic initiatives and operational imperatives over the next two years.

If you'd like to get involved in any aspect of this work, please consider joining one of the six supporting taskforces. You’ll learn by participating in the collaborative efforts of a group of smart, dedicated peers who meet a couple of times each month. You’ll have an opportunity to brainstorm and share ideas, experience new leadership opportunities, and participate in important load management advancements within the energy industry. 

About Vision 2024's Strategic Initiatives
The following statements represent the goal for each initiative:

Spark DER as a Grid Resource
Shepherd DER management into a grid resource.
Decarbonization through LM
Demonstrate how load management is an important tool for achieving decarbonization goals.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Ensure PLMA’s actions and content reflect our values with respect to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The PLMA community’s embodiment of DEI values becomes an example to the energy industry.
EV Impacts to the Grid
Amplify learnings taking place on managing EV load impacts to the grid, including:  V2G pilots, managed public charging, rates, etc.


About Vision 2024's Operational Imperatives
The following statements represent the goal for each imperative. The imperatives are driven primarily by PLMA's Staff with important advisory input from member practitioners:

Raise the Voice of Load Management Practitioners among industry stakeholders who need unbiased information, lessons learned, and practical insight about the DR & DER evolution.
Member Development
Drive member engagement and development to ensure PLMA’s long-term growth and success.
