SDG&E Issues 2017 Resource Adequacy Requirement RFPs

Thursday, August 4, 2016

On August 3, 2016, San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E) issued its 2017 Request for Proposals ("RFP") seeking eligible resources to meet Resource Adequacy Requirements (“RAR”) established in Decisions 05-10-042, 06-06-064, 13-06-024, 14-06-050, and 15-06-063.

SDG&E is issuing this Request for Proposals to assist in optimizing its 2017 RA portfolio. Through this RFP it is anticipated that RA products will be bought, sold, and/or swapped so as to minimize the procurement cost impact for ratepayers while also meeting SDG&E’s System RAR and Local RAR obligations.

SDG&E will host a bidder’s conference on August 16, 2016 via web conference to ensure successful participation and interactive feedback. Webinar and outreach event information will be posted on the RFP website once it is finalized

Offers in response to the RFP are due on September 1, 2016. SDG&E encourages respondents to carefully review submission documents and provide sufficient details in all required bid forms.

ALL questions or other communications regarding this RFO should be submitted via email to [email protected] with a CC to [email protected] (Independent Evaluator). Only questions submitted by August 26th through this email address will be assured a response on the RFO Website. Questions received after this deadline may not receive a response.
