DR Dialogue: Resource Materials for....

Integrating Demand Response with Energy Efficiency Goals

with Michael Brown, NV Energy and John Steinberg, Ecofactors

presented Thursday, February 6, 2014, 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. Eastern

Thank you for your interest in this PLMA Demand Response Dialogue. This will be a 30-minute conversation with a few Powerpoint slides.

You have access to review the recording on this page.

Description: Learn about NV Energy's integrated residential energy management program that successfully combines demand response and energy efficiency – and high customer satisfaction – at scale!  In 2012-13, NV Energy deployed what may be the first commercial-scale integrated DR-EE project in the country.  NV Energy’s mPowered program is now applying EcoFactor’s thermostat management service to more than 20,000 devices in the scorching southern Nevada market, and delivering significant energy savings for customers and a large and growing dispatchable demand response resource for the utility.

During the hottest part of the summer of 2013, NV Energy ran eight consecutive days of DR events in Las Vegas while keeping customer satisfaction high by applying individually optimized pre-cooling to each home.  NV Energy’s M&V confirmed the objective benefits; NV Energy’s consumer surveys have confirmed the high level of satisfaction generated by the service.

Michael Brown, Manager, Demand Response at NV Energy and John Steinberg, Co-Founder of EcoFactor will share insights and highlights of the utility’s roll-out in 2013.

Insight You Will Gain:

  • How NV Energy conducted 28 DR events with consistent high yield AND high customer participation

  • Tactics for delivering industry-leading EE results without relying on behavior modification

Plan to join PLMA for a web dialogue between these thought leaders:
