Overview
The energy efficiency advisor designs and manages energy efficiency, demand side management and demand response programs for residential and/or commercial customers in the District's service territory. Activities include, but are not limited to, day to day customer management, monitoring, and reporting of financial and energy savings, and contributing to the development of short and long term energy efficiency and demand side management plans. Develops and maintains relationships with both internal and external stakeholders in the political and environmental arena. Supports District renewable/alternative energy programs (i.e. SNAP) and promotes cooperation in efficiency and alternative energy programs with other local and regional entities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis and research to recommend effective District energy efficiency measures, technologies and activities designed to meet regulatory and District objectives.
  • Provides exceptional customer service assisting customers in selecting appropriate technologies or activities, preparing incentive or rebate materials, and providing technical support.
  • Enters or oversees data entry into tracking systems and monitors accuracy and completeness of records in accordance with compliance standards.
  • Manages vendors and contracts.
  • Participates in the development of short and long range plans and budgets.
  • Interacts with regulatory agencies and internal or external auditors.
  • Maintains relationships with other industry experts and participants through participation on regional forums and attending appropriate conferences.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance: Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Comply with District policies. Complete all required training. Maintain a working knowledge and comply with District safety procedures and specific safety requirements of this position, and those in accordance with applicable provisions of the Revised Code of Washington (RCW) and Washington Administrative Code (WAC). Employees with access to confidential employee records and information are required to restrict access from any unauthorized person, except on a need to know basis.
  • As an essential function, drive a motorized vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the District.
