SUMMARY:  The purpose of the position is to provide general supervision and direction of the Power Division.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
1. Planning and implementing the expansion, maintenance, and coordination of the utility’s Electrical Service System.
2. Develop, modify and implement policies authorized by the utility’s Board and General Manager.
3. Organization of the Engineering and Operation Departments for the most efficient use of manpower and equipment.
4. To provide technical assistance to the General Manager.
5. Recommend and implement changes for improving the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Power Division.
6. To directly supervise the Supervisor of Power Operations, the Supervisor of Power Engineering and Metering and Apparatus personnel.
7. The general safety of employees and the public with regards to the power system.
8. To implement approved TVA Programs.
9. To be responsible for the two-way communication system for all divisions.
10. To prepare an annual operating budget for the division.
11. To participate in supervisory rotating stand by duty cycles.
12. To perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Normally supervises less than 30 employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION:  College graduate holding a BS degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering.

EXPERIENCE:  At least 5 years’ experience in the management and engineering of an electrical system.

CONTACT:  Above normal contact directing activities of the Division of Power personnel. About 60% of the time will be spent in contact with the public and/or public officials in an authoritative capacity.
