Thursday, June 5, 2014

The Peak Load Management Alliance (PLMA) is seeking interest from member companies and other industry allies in providing the organization with training services to support the development and execution of a Demand Response Training Series. Details are available at www.peakload.org/demand-response-training.

The Demand Response Training Series has been designed to be responsive to the training priorities identified by the membership. The first iteration of the series would ideally consist of three in-person training courses that would ideally be conducted as follows:

  • Demand Response Program Design and Implementation – a two-day training course scheduled between the Spring 2014 and Fall 2014 Conferences.  The location will be Las Vegas and the Member Host will be NV Energy.
  • Introduction to Demand Response– a one-day training course conducted as a pre-conference Session before the Spring and Fall PLMA Conferences. The first such training course would ideally before the 15th PLMA Fall Conference set for Philadelphia on November 4-5, 2014.
  • Demand Response Markets– a two-day training course would be ideally scheduled between the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 PLMA Conferences.  A Member Host has not yet been identified.

The PLMA Education Committee is responsible for setting strategic direction for education and training initiatives.

The committee will help select, coordinate, and evaluate education initiative resources and content.  Training Partners will be selected by the Education Committee to help develop course content, training materials, and to conduct training.  Member Hosts will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of some of the training sessions to incorporate demonstrations relevant to the training content, and providing supplementary training materials as necessary.  Interested members should briefly respond with the requested information by Friday, June 20, 2014.  The PLMA Education Committee will review and consider the responses.  Details are available at www.peakload.org/demand-response-training.
