OpenADR 2.0 Workshop on Sept 23-24 in Southern Calif

Wednesday, July 17, 2013

QualityLogic, the official test tool vendor to the OpenADR Alliance, offers a one-day on site workshops or two day open enrollment classes for companies and organizations interested in developing products or programs involving the OpenADR 2.0 specification, including "a" and "b" profiles.

Developed by the Demand Response Research Center of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, OpenADR is a low-cost, speedy, reliable communications infrastructure that allows utilities and grid operators to send Demand Response signals directly to building automation and control systems on customers’ sites, using a common language and existing communications technology, such as the Internet.

The OpenADR Workshop provides both a conceptual and a detailed technical understanding of what OpenADR 2.0 is and how it works. Participants will become familiar with OpenADR 2.0 technology; Certification Profiles a and b; the formal conformance certification program; and the pre-certification tests and tools for these profiles and OpenADR specifications. In addition, the Workshop illustrates how OpenADR can automate typical utility DR programs.

At the end of the class, engineering participants will understand OpenADR 2.0 concepts, the various flavors of OpenADR VTNs and VENs, the certification profiles and requirements, and how to get started building an OpenADR 2.0-conformant product that meets certification requirements and is interoperable with other OpenADR 2.0 products. Utility participants will have an in-depth understanding of how to use OpenADR technology to implement their programs and how to evaluate, utilize and acquire OpenADR technology for their programs.
