NV Energy Market and Technology Trials Request for Information

Friday, March 14, 2014

The purpose of this request for information (RFI) is to obtain a bidders list for interested parties that would like to receive NV Energy’s Market and Technology Trials program Request for Proposal (RFP). NV Energy’s Market and Technology Trials program is designed to evaluate potential electrical and associated natural gas energy efficiency or demand response measures in a market place setting with a goal of expanding program offerings to NV Energy’s customers. This program is not a Research and Development (R&D) program, but is designed to evaluate the demonstrated market effectiveness in terms of energy and demand savings and customer response by a previous analysis. NV Energy prefers that the previous analysis has been performed by an independent third party. Manufacturers, vendors, contractors, individuals, and any other private or public organization with energy efficiency measures or programs that have programs or products that meet these requirements are encouraged to participate. The RFP that is planned to follow this RFI will be issued with the intention of moving forward with a market trial with the selected participant.

PROGRAM BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES. NV Energy’s Market and Technology Trials program focuses on the assessment and testing of innovative and electrical and associated natural gas energy efficiency or demand response technologies with applications in the residential, commercial, and industrial markets in Nevada. The trial allows for small scale tests of products that potentially have energy savings benefits to the customer and utility. The 2014 approved budget for NV Energy’s southern service territory is $400,000 and the 2014 approved budget for NV Energy’s electric northern service territory is $100,000 and its natural gas service territory is $50,000. This amount does not include third party independent evaluator costs.
