COVID-19 Impact Survey.  PLMA, in partnership with Guidehouse, conducted an online survey of Board members and At-Large Representatives to assess COVID-19 impacts on load management programs, especially for the upcoming summer months. The purpose of this survey was to collect information and disseminate insights on how utilities are adapting to changes/challenges from the COVID-19 crisis in terms of managing their DR resources and how load management programs are being modified to adapt to the changes. Rich Philip of PLMA, and Brett Feldman and Debyani Ghosh of Guidehouse will discuss the findings in a webinar on June 17.  View the PLMA/Guidehouse COVID-19 Survey Summary Results and Analysis along with the recent Dialogue webcast at CLICK HERE.

Interest Groups. The Global Load Management Interest Group presented the first HOT TOPICS Conversation with member practitioners on June 11. Access the webcast recording and keep the conversation going at www.peakload.org/hot-topic-global-supply-chain (behind your username and password). This information was sent to all Global Load Management Interest Group members, but please share the link with others in your organization who may be interested in joining the group.  A schedule for the other Interest Groups is listed in the calendar below.  The Customer Engagement Interest Group will host the next HOT TOPICS Conversation on Utility Programs for Families in COVID-19 Quarantine on July 2.  The Women in Demand Management Interest Group is planning to pilot a mentorship program later this year.  While the group has made great progress in the preparation of this initiative, they are open to information from PLMA Members with advice or suggestions from their experiences with other mentorship programs.  Contact Judy Knight at [email protected] if you have input that could help in the development of this program.

Responding to COVID-19: Federal Policy Priorities.  PLMA has recently communicated with the Alliance to Save Energy (a nonprofit, bipartisan alliance of business, government, environmental and consumer leaders advocating for enhanced energy productivity) regarding their work in Washington, DC in response to the energy efficiency and demand response job losses associated with the COVID-19 crisis. They have crafted a package of four policy priorities https://www.ase.org/responding-covid-19-pandemic for any COVID-19 economic stimulus package that may be put forward by the Congress. These proposals are designed to ensure that lawmakers understand the severe damage playing out in the energy efficiency sector and that they act accordingly to put policies in place that protect jobs and pave the way for future rebuilding. The Alliance is looking for businesses that are interested in supporting their efforts by lending their companies names to the long list of supporters. If you are interested, please contact Jason Reott of the Alliance to Save Energy at [email protected].
