Effective immediately, The National Theatre for Children, a Minneapolis based company, long standing for 38 years, is looking for a highly qualified person to fill a Manager level full time position who would report directly to the Vice President of Operations.

We are looking for someone who is an administrator, a personnel evaluator and an organizer. A background in the arts and human resources would help but not a deal breaker. This person must be an excellent communicator, highly organized, people person, responsible, trustworthy, hardworking, committed, detailed and a charismatic leader willing to commit to this position and company NTC for many years.

Position: Casting and Company Manager in Theatre Production at The National Theatre for Children
Responsible To: VP, Pat Rowan or, in his absence, President Ward Eames
Responsibilities:
o Increase and maintain the high quality of NTC theatre, live productions, extra-circular and classroom related presentations
o Management and creative collaboration with production team
o Participation in the creative development and writing of scripts for touring productions
o Work to improve effectiveness and efficiency of rehearsal process
o Work within Production budget parameters
o Direct touring productions for NTC, as necessary
o Perform in special events, as necessary
o Prepare necessary audition materials; conduct local and out of town auditions and follow up casting activities
o Evaluate and cast actors/employees for all touring productions
o Coordinating and tracking information for individual audition trips
o Conducting work history, reference and background checks on all actors/ employees
o Coordinate drug screening process for new actors/employees, as necessary
o Make contract offers and negotiations to all actors/ employees
o Maintain communication and relationship nurturing with all potential actors/ employees throughout hiring process
o Facilitate or delegate all correspondence with actors; including sending contracts, scripts, actor guides, travel information, etc.
o Assess casting needs for upcoming season(s) and make changes as necessary
o Actor management; transporting actors, facilitate actor meetings, dealing with actor issues in rehearsal and on the road.
o Attend All Staff & Production meetings
o Implement artist entertainment during rehearsal period

Annual Salary: TBD

Semi-annual salary increases based on Personal Objective Plan designed by employee and Supervisor and subject to semi-annual reviews by Supervisor
Participation in the company 401(K) retirement plan with company match, as conforms to company policy after 24 months vesting period
Participation at the Manager Level in additional discretionary company bonus pool based on percentage of NTC profit after 24 months vesting period
Bi-Annual Departmental and Individual Bonus pay based on overall averages of teacher evaluation scores
Paid holidays (10): Labor day, Thanksgiving Day plus Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King OR President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day.
Plus 2 weeks of paid vacation per calendar year
