The Product Marketing Associate will work within/closely with the Product team to support the communications strategy for the next generation of distributed energy resource (DER) control and optimization product capabilities. Under the supervision of the senior channel marketing manager, the associate will help to create demand for GGS products, including Concerto, through effective messaging and marketing campaigns. This position requires the candidate to have technical knowledge related to DER control and grid-balancing solutions; the product marketing associate will understand and convey how and through what channels GGS sells its products and solutions. The position will require work in a collaborative environment, regularly engaging with GGS product managers, sales leaders and marketing managers in other parts of the Generac business. In addition, the associate will work with marketing to enhance GGS’ continued positioning in the market and help manage external relationships with analysts, consultants and partners.

  • Design and implement GGS’ solution resources for sales enablement in key regions
  • Increase GGS’ digital presence through web, social media and other platforms
  • Develop competitive Concerto™ and other product positioning: tracking competitors and providing strategic direction
  • Support Generac Smart Grid Ready product roadmap development and marketing
  • Deliver and execute product marketing campaigns to drive sales leads and web traffic
  • Provide creative design support to help unify GGS and Generac branding imagery
  • Support broader GGS corporate marketing strategies
  • Interface with marketing managers across Generac business groups
  • Travel to other Generac facilities as necessary

Position Overview

Advanced Energy provides independent engineering services for utility scale renewable energy resources connected to transmission and distribution systems. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about quality and ensuring the safety and reliability of renewable energy systems interconnected with the grid. 

An ideal candidate will have an electrical engineering background and knowledge of the electric power industry and transmission and distribution systems. Candidates seeking a senior level position must have at least seven years of experience, advanced knowledge and have passed the FE exam; it is also strongly preferred to have a PE and other certifications relevant to job duties. 

In addition, it is desirable for candidates to possess the following:

  • Knowledge of planning, design, interconnection, construction, and commissioning of utility scale renewable generation facilities including inverter-based resources (IBRs) and energy storage systems connecting to transmission and/or medium voltage distribution system 
  • Experience performing engineering analysis, design documentation review, and/or field testing for electrical systems 
  • Ability to perform field evaluations to assess aspects of the quality of design, construction, and operation; ability to conduct field tests of electrical equipment
  • Experience presenting concise results to customers through reports that delineate observations, results, and recommendations for further action
  • Preferred to have knowledge of electrical and utility industry standards such as:
    • National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
    • Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standards: IEEE 1547-2018 and IEEE 2800-2022
    • North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Reliability Guidelines (2018 and 2019) and standards such as PRC-024-3
    • Rural Utility Services (RUS) or investor-owned utility electric distribution construction standards
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail

The job requires team members to spend part of their time visiting utility scale renewable facilities currently located primarily in North Carolina and South Carolina. Travel varies week to week and throughout the year. It is typically up to 1-3 days a week with overnight travel sometimes necessary. The rest of the time is balanced between the main office and/or working remotely at a home office.

CFC has a need for a Senior Rate and Business Consultant that will ensure CFC provides electric utility rate-making, policy, and regulatory advisory consulting services to CFC member systems. 

As a Senior Rate and Business Consultant, you will:

  • Assist and provide guidance to electric cooperative management and board-of-directors on contemporary retail rate strategies and options. 
  • Provide CFC members with regulatory consulting services at the federal and state level.
  • Conduct revenue requirement and cost of service studies consistent with industry accepted best practices and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop traditional electric distribution rates, as well as specialty rates to include residential demand, EV, time-of-use, interruptible, and demand side management for CFC member cooperatives.
  • Analyze and assess industry trends, events and federal and state regulatory activities to determine the impact on CFC and its members. 
  • Prepare competent expert testimony to advocate for the members’ and/or CFC’s positions.
  • Develop and present educational programs on technical issues to effectively and clearly transfer knowledge and skills to diverse constituents.


To be successful, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, business, economics, finance or engineering related degree is preferred.
  • MBA/Master’s Degree or higher in a relevant field preferred.
  • 7 years of relevant utility, state commission, FERC or consulting experience.
  • Significant familiarity with the electricity industry landscape including state and federal regulations, business models, financial fundamentals, and rate development. 
  • Proven ability to work across multiple aspects of the electric utility industry. 
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Advanced BI software skills and analytical/database management tools e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx.
  • Statistical, econometric, machine learning modeling/simulation knowledge.

  • Coordinate, manage, and monitor all aspects of the product life cycle, including long-term and short-term development and marketing.
  • Develop and coordinate marketing campaign(s) to achieve targets and implement a go-to-market plan, working with stakeholders across the company to execute.
  • Manage the procurement process and program budget, pay invoices, and validate billing from vendors. Provide monthly reports on financial status and program performance.

  • Coordinate Measurement and Verification (M&V) by a third party of the associated energy savings from products and evaluate cost effectiveness.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in the electric and natural gas utility industry.

  • Evaluate product performance to help develop and update company goals and objectives.
  • Serves as subject matter expert for assigned new products and services.
