ULME Web Discussion:  Electric Vehicles and Demand Response

June 24, 2020, ONLINE, 12:30-1:30 pm Eastern

Come meet with your fellow utility colleagues (and only utility colleagues) at the next ULME webinar on electric vehicles and demand response. We will have two special guests to cover different ways EVs have been controlled for demand response.

  • Joana Abreu, from Eversource, will cover how their demonstration project is going controlling Evs through ChargePoint chargers (aka EVSEs).
  • Paul Wassink, from National Grid, will discuss their plans to launch a EV + DR program using onboard telematics (no EVSE needed).

Please come prepared to discuss and ask questions. After we hear from the speakers, we will break out the webinar into teams of 4 to 5 participants to learn what other utilities are doing with Evs and DR, and see how the programs we have learned about could be further improved. At the end of the meeting, you will get a chance to vote on what the next ULME webinar should be about.

Please register for the webinar by June 22nd so we can verify you are a utility employee.  Registration will be closed after June 22nd, the WebEx link will be sent to verified registrants.  This webinar will not be recorded.

12:30 - 2:30 pm EST | Live Online Presentation
This presentation will not be recorded.

Paul Wassink

National Grid and ULME Steering Committee

Paul helps lead new product development for National Grid’s commercial and industrial customers. He works with customers to understand their changing energy needs, and how new technologies can lower their energy cost while increasing comfort and environmental sustainability. Paul leads the development of new electrical demand management and demand response solutions for commercial and industrial customers, and is developing several new programs to help customers address the rising demand costs. He is a member of the Massachusetts Technical Assessment Committee (MTAC), which helps to bring new technologies into our energy efficiency incentive programs.

The Utility Load Management Exchange's (ULME's) mission is to promote load control as a viable option for utility deployments in demand reduction, economic dispatch, and/or T&D reliability through a forum for utility staff members to share information on program design, marketing, vendor management, benefit-costs and technology deployments. Learn more about the structure and governance of ULME here.
