1.  Registration is now open for the 40th PLMA Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida on Nov. 4-6, 2019 at www.peakload.org/40th-plma-conference.  Please consider making plans to attend PLMA's 20th Anniversary Celebration.

Leadership Changes. 40th Conference Planning Group Co-chairs are: Melissa Knous, Duke Energy; Michael Ohlsen, City of Tallahassee Utilities; SaLisa Berrien, COI Energy Services. The Customer Engagement Group has added a 4th cochair: Tracy Schmidt of Tennessee Valley Authority. Dain Nestel resigned as Awards Group Co-Chair due to his new role at Portland General Electric. Amy Bryan resigned as At-Large Director due to her retirement from Jackson EMC.    

41st and 42nd PLMA Conferences.  Staff signed contracts with Scottsdale (Arizona) Plaza for April 20-24, 2020 and Marriott Baltimore Waterfront for November 9-12, 2020.  These were the top venue recommendations and preferred timing for APS, SRP and BGE.   

Online Training Promotion - Staff relaunched the online training course promotion that offers a drawing for a $100 coupon to PLMA's Land's End store.  All students who purchase and complete the online course between June 1 and August 1, 2019 are eligible.  Details at www.peakoad.org/new-intro-to-dr-online-training 

Speaker Bureau Update.  Ed Thomas presented to the Florida Alliance for Accelerating Solar and Storage Technology Readiness (FAASSTeR) on June 24 about the upcoming conference in St. Petersburg.  Brian Doyle and Jenny Roehm will co-present a Future of DER session at ACEEE Efficiency as a Resource Conference in October in Minneapolis. 

Resource Directory Updates. Most recent additions are: Distributed Energy Growth report from Utility Dive, and recording from Pacific Gas & Electric Company’s Excess Supply Demand Response Program.  Access at www.peakload.org/resources

Hosted by Xcel Energy at their headquarters in Minneapolis, Minn., the 9th annual Members Meeting will also cover the most pertinent areas of need in consumer research and education and where our organization’s efforts can best be focused for 2019.
