Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field related to Environmental Science, Life Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, Business Administration, Planning, plus six (6) years of experience in a related field, three (3) years of which was in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Master's degree may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.

 


Licenses or Certifications:
  • As required in a related area.

Preferred Qualifications

This position will primarily focus on Demand and Emergency Response programs for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The position will be responsible for coordinating operational, planning, and outreach activities for demand response. Experience in developing utility Demand Side Management (DSM) program guidelines, technical specifications, and program roadmaps as well as managing request for proposals, and managing/monitoring contracts and budgets is preferred. A history of investigating Demand Response (DR) programs and technology options, DR standards and communications protocols, synergies with energy efficiency programs and customer engagement tools as well as other utility andERCOTDR programs are included with planning activities is desired. Experience in developing and presenting business cases to management for review, input, and approval is desired. In addition, experience with presenting, coordinating, and implementing, marketing and outreach activities is beneficial.

Experience in leadingDSMprogram staff in deliveringDSMprograms in an electric utility setting is highly desired. Prior participation, at a national level, with organizations such as Peak Load Management Alliance (PLMA), OpenADRAlliance, Advanced Load Cycling Alliance(ALCA) or other similar organizations is a plus.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Negotiate regulatory compliance issues with state and federal environmental agenciesManage and review programs/projects
  2. Administer programs
  3. Market programs
  4. Develop, monitor, and evaluate program and resource budgets
  5. Develop, manage and administer contracts
  6. Develop training for internal and external customers
  7. Develop and maintain program policies and standard operating procedures
  8. Develop, review, interpret, and rewrite ordinances, codes, and regulations
  9. Perform public relations functions
  10. Participate in short and long range planning activities
  11. Develop and manage quality control initiatives
  12. Develop and conduct audits
  13. Assist with evaluating bid proposals
  14. Perform supervisory duties i.e., hiring, promoting, disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, etc.
