Q: What is PLMA’s mission?

Q: How is PLMA governed? Does PLMA lobby?
A: PLMA is a non-profit trade association managed by officers elected by board members who represent over 100 member organizations. PLMA does no lobbying, and does not accept or distribute charitable donations. Learn more at www.peakload.org/?page=about_PLMA .
Q: Who belongs to PLMA? How do I find out if my organization is a PLMA member?
A: PLMA is an organization membership association, it does not have individuals as members. This means that once an organization joins, an unlimited number of the organization’s staff are entitled to member benefits. The current list of member organizations is at www.peakload.org/?page=MemberDirectory and the Leadership is listed at www.peakload.org/?page=MemberDirectory. If you don’t see your organization on the member list, please join at www.peakload.org/?page=JoinPLMA2015.
Q: Why do I need a profile username and password? Do I need to be a member to login? How do I get a username and password for me and/or other staff from our company?
A: Any individual may register at www.peakload.org/login.aspx to receive a free profile username and password which is required to register for a PLMA hosted, in-person event, comment on a blog, or access certain web content. Representatives from member organizations may request an unlimited number of profile usernames and passwords so each staff person has individual member access to registration discounts for PLMA hosted, in-person event and greater access to all web content in the Resource Directory and elsewhere, to include conference presentation slides and Dialogue web recordings.

- Non-member organization staff. Please join at www.peakload.org/?page=JoinPLMA2015. To request a free-but-limited-access nonmember profile username and password, choose the “1.Free Attendee” option at the Join PLMA link.
- Utility Load Management Exchange (ULME) utility representatives who are not PLMA members must request a login to access secure pages. Learn more about ULME at www.ULME.org. If you need assistance or wish to participate in ULME, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: How do I reset my password/remember my log-in?
A: To help you remember, you may link your PLMA profiles access to your Linkedin or Facebook social media account. For assistance in resetting your PLMA password, contact email@example.com.
Q: How much does it cost to join PLMA? How do I decide what membership level is right for my organization? May I join PLMA as an individual?
A: PLMA member benefit and pricing is detailed at www.peakload.org/?page=JoinPLMA2015. The fundamental membership decision is if your organization wishes to “bundle” 2 or 6 conference/training passes with your dues payment. The passes may be used by anyone your organization designates within a 12-month period. PLMA offers lower dues pricing for utility and smaller organization to encourage their participation. PLMA staff would welcome the opportunity to schedule a no-obligation, web-based conference call with screen sharing for you and other key decision makers in your organization to discuss what membership level is most appropriate and tips for making the most of your membership benefits. Q: How do I add my email address to your distribution list without becoming a member?
Complete the member registration form and select the "1.Free Attendee" option to be included in our email distributions at no cost.
Q: Where may I find slides/recordings from a past conference/Dialogue presentations?
A: PLMA offers members and allies a Resource Directory of links to thought leadership by industry experts. It includes:
- Presentation slides from past PLMA Spring and Fall Conferences and other PLMA-produced events
- Recordings from past PLMA DR Dialogues and other PLMA-produced webcasts
- Articles, reports and white papers from PLMA initiatives and collaborations
- Other materials contributed by PLMA member organizations and allies
The Resource Directory contents page at www.peakload.org/page/ResourceDirectory is accessible to anyone, but many of the resource links require PLMA member organization staff to login to view and download the information described.
Q: How may I post an announcement about my company, such as a new product release, request for proposals, or position opening? How much does it cost?
A: Members may post an unlimited number of announcements at no cost on PLMAlink to share with other members who opt-in. To post an announcement, sign In at www.peakload.org/login.aspx with your profile username and password, or connect firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.
Q: Does PLMA sell their contact distribution list? Will you distribute an email to your members about our organization?
A: PLMA does not make its entire membership contact database available to third-parties, but it does allow members to connect with other members online behind the profile username and password. From there, members have the option to allow for connections and/or to share their contact information. Also, PLMA share the contact details of conference registrants with conference sponsors.
