Join this Grid-Interactive Water Heating Interest Group Discussion about the regulatory and legislative environment for electric storage water heaters.  This discussion is open to all PLMA members and nonmembers. The conversation will include introductory remarks by these industry thought leaders: 

Gary Connett, Great River Energy

Gary Connett is director of environmental stewardship and member services for Great River Energy. Gary most recently served as Great River Energy’s manager, demand response/member services, responsible for managing and directing the organization’s demand response, conservation and energy efficiency programs, as well as overseeing business development. He has been with Great River Energy for more than 30 years.



Steve Koep, Vaughn Thermal Corporation

Steve Koep has over 25 years of experience working with the electric utility industry to develop new markets for leading-edge energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies. Vaughn Thermal Corporation builds long-life, high-efficiency electric water heaters and thermal storage tanks for the Demand Response, Renewable Storage and Geothermal Heat Pump markets.


Paul Steffes, Steffes Corporation

A native of Dickinson, North Dakota, Paul is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board for Steffes Corporation.



Who Should Attend. Utility and regulatory staff as well as other energy industry trade allies and organizations seeking thought leadership and insight on innovative demand response methods to meet peak energy load needs, mitigate price, and manage variable generation.

After introductory remarks, the three presenters will have an informal discussion where they include your comments and questions.
