PLMA Nominations for 14th Awards Program - Now Closed

2016's Best Demand Response Programs, Initiatives and Achievements to be Recognized at 35th PLMA Conference


PLMA accepted nominations of the best demand response programs, initiatives and achievements from calendar year 2016 for its 14th Annual PLMA Award Program. Deadline through Monday, February 13, 2017.  The awards will be presented at the 35th PLMA Conference on April 3-5 in Nashville.

The 14th PLMA Awards Program, for achievements during calendar year 2016 will recognize industry leaders who create innovative ideas, methods, programs and technologies that manage end use loads in order to meet peak load needs, mitigate price risks and support successful grid integration of distributed generation assets. PLMA Awards Program Co-Chairs are Nick Corsetti, National Grid and Dain Nestel, CLEAResult with Paul Miles, PECO.

Integrated Demand Side Management has been a high potential concept that is coming into its own. The proliferation of distributed energy resources has made IDSM grow in importance to the utility community and consumers of energy alike. Practitioners of demand response continue to lead and respond to the challenge, developing innovative solutions and business models that deliver on the promise of the smart grid. The PLMA Awards Program exists in order recognize, support and promote these innovations and innovators.

Over the past 13 years, PLMA has presented over 60 awards to recipients who have included utilities, curtailment providers, end-users, and individuals responsible for demand response efforts targeted to the residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural customer markets. Nominations are sought in the following award categories:

Program Pacesetter Innovative solutions require excellent program design and delivery. The Program Pacesetter Award seeks to recognize outstanding programs that effectively support and deliver peak load management. Utility or Regulator

Technology Pioneer Achieving the potential for peak load management can be greatly enhanced by technology. The Technology Pioneer Award seeks to recognize innovative applications of technology with demonstrated potential to scale. Consumer

Manufacturer
Thought Leader Education, Research and Outreach are key elements in any market transformation. The Thought Leader Award seeks to recognize the impact of projects, outreach campaigns and individual contributions that have the potential to shape the industry's future. Individual

1. The recipient categories are arranged in this table adjacent to the most likely award category.
2. As appropriate, any of the individual recipient categories can be associated with any of the three award categories.

Step-by-Step Award Program Guide

Step 1 - Consider Nominating. Put forth an industry peer, partner, program, or achievement for the 14th PLMA Awards. Self-nominations are appropriate and encouraged as well. Nominations are accepted from all industry professionals, regardless of whether you are they are from PLMA member organizations.

Step 2 - Complete Nomination Form before February 13, 2017

Step 3 - Attend 35th PLMA Conference on April 3-5 in Nashville. The event is three days of learning and networking with industry leaders, including the awards presentation. Event details are at www.peakload.org/event/35thconf. Award winners will receive a free conference registration, be invited to present during the Conference, and be featured in a Demand Response Dialogue webcast later this year.
